Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ITANAGAR, Jan 11: District AYUSH Mission Society, Itanagar Capital Complex today organized a public health outreach initiative for creating mass awareness on the importance of AYUSH healthcare system in solving the pressing community health problems at the Health and Wellness Centre (HWC), Nirjuli.
Director Health Services Dr. M. Lego as Chief Guest inaugurated the Peripheral AYUSH OPD at the HWC where AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) system of medicines will be available as part of public healthcare services. An awareness programme was conducted for the panchayat leaders, teachers, ASHAs/ANMs and Anganwadi workers regarding nutritional deficiencies, epidemic and vector borne diseases, maternal and child healthcare etc. and promotion of health through AYUSH. The Resource Persons were DDHS-AYUSH Dr Inya Ling, Nodal Officer-AYUSH Dr. Riyom Taipodia, DANO ICC Dr. Usha Devi among others.
ICC District Medical Officer Dr Mandip Perme, MO l/c Karsingsa Dr Mausami Lokam and other officials were present in the programme wherein medicinal plants like neem, giloy, tulsi, kalmegh and bhasak were distributed to the citizens followed by plantation of medicinal herbs at the HWC.
