ZIRO, Jun 27:In order to familiarise the traders on the basics of Goods and Service Taxes (GST) which will be rolled out on July 1 next in Arunachal Pradesh, a one day awareness programme was held in the Abotani Hall, Hapoli by the Department of Tax and Excise, Ziro.
Attending the inaugural programme as chief guest Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen exhorted all the traders and the business community to avail the opportunity to learn about GST and ensure registration with the GST-Network.
Later, during the technical session Punyo Yaje, Superintendent Tax & Excise, Ziro presented the overview of GST and also dealt at length on the tax returns process.
Terming GST as a single and transparent tax proportionate to the value and services, he added that GST will be a relief in overall tax burden.
Traders from Hapoli, Ziro, Raga, Yazali, Yachuli and Tamen, members of Bazaar committee, Trade and commerce attended the training program.
