BOMDILA, Nov 3: The Department of Labour and Employment in collaboration with District Administration successfully held an awareness campaign on eShram portal at the conference hall of circuit house, Bomdila.
District Labour and Employment Officer (DL&EO) Khandu Thongdok, gave a powerpoint presentation on the details regarding the eShram Portal. A short video released by the Ministry of Labour and Employment was also featured.
ADC(HQ) Sang Khandu also spoke of the benefits of getting oneself registered in the eShram portal and also directed all HoDs to ensure that contingency staff under their respective departments be registered at the earliest. He also asked the DL&EO to issue a circular to all departments all over the district regarding registration of their contingency and casual staff on the portal and to submit a report in a time bound manner.
West Kameng Labour Union President Nikhon Sangchoju who was also the resource person gave details of benefits of getting oneself enrolled under the Arunachal Pradesh Building and other Construction Welfare Board.
Concluding the event, the DL&EO spoke on the issue of Child Labour and spelled out the provisions related to Child Labour Act.
The eShram portal is a National level electronic database recently launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment for registering unorganised workers like home makers, self employed persons, farmer, domestic helps, mnrega workers, anganwadis and others. One must not be registered under EPFO or ESIC and must not be paying income tax. The beneficiary must have an aadhar seeded mobile number and bank account and must be between 16 and 59 years old. All future benefits will be directly transferred into the beneficiary account.
