ZIRO, Jun 27:Governor PB Acharya, who is on a four day district tour of Lower Subansiri and Upper Subansiri made a surprise visit to Government Higher secondary School, Yazali today en route to Ziro.
Interacting with the teachers and staffers, the governor expressed concern about the pass percentage and urged for dedication and sincerity of teachers.
Emphasising on the need to avoid disparity amongst tribal and non tribal students in the distribution of textbooks, uniforms and other provisions, he said that we have to grow together irrespective of our ethnicity and create a harmonious society.
He also took update on the status of Mid Day Meals and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao while urging the school community to organize Swacch Bharat Abhiyan in the campus regularly.
Later at Ziro, the Governor in a brief interactive session with the HoDs advised them to have a greater sense of responsibility and accountability towards the duties assigned.
Terming Education, Power and Connectivity as three vital elements to usher in development, the Governor further advised the HoDs to prepare a roadmap of the activities to be initiated by the concern department and strive hard to archive targets.
‘With better connectivity tourism will flourish in this area,’ he added and suggested for building clean public utilities on the way for the tourists. He further advised the Power department to take up projects to generate power from alternate energy sources as well.
He also enquired about the Fish cum rice cultivation and the organic chain movement of Ziro.
