ITANAGAR, Apr 3: Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Service Association (APESA) has strongly condemned the assault on Assistant Engineer, Water Resources Department, Er Tomo Pertin. Appealing all law-abiding citizen to condemn such cowardly acts, it further appealed the  Engineers’ fraternity under to counter such shameful acts boldly and uphold laid down rules and regulations and not to be cowed down by such hooligans. 

Urging law enforcing authorities to take stern action against such hooliganism, the association said that unless peace and tranquillity prevail, the Engineers of the state cannot deliver development projects for meaningful progress in the state.  

The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has also vehemently condemned the physical attack on Pertin.

Physical attack on government official on duty is a serious offence. Moreover, chasing and attacking an officer on duty is a big slap on the law of land that too by an active member of a national political party, the CoSAAP said in a release. CoSAAP has strongly demand the law enforcing agency to book the case under appropriate section of the law and award exemplary punishment and deliver justice to the victim.

 Assistant Engineer, WRD, Boleng, Tomo Pertin was allegedly attacked by one Obuk Tapak on March 30 last in between Aalo and Boleng. 
It is reported that Pertin was on official duty when Tapak chased his vehicle and stopped him at an isolated place en route and physically assaulted him. 
An FIR has been lodged in Aalo, Police Station but the culprit is yet to be arrested.
