ITANAGAR, May 17: Irked over the delay by the state government to extend justice to the family members of Late Risso Tari who was killed during the Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) protest on February 22 last, Risso Welfare Society has submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh seeking his intervention on the issue.
Speaking to media along the sidelines of the statue unveiling ceremony of Late Tari at his burial place at the Tennis Court grounds today, President RWS, Risso Taju informed that the society has submitted a memorandum to the Governor seeking his intervention for early justice to the bereaved family members.
Throwing light into the content, Taju informed that they have submitted a five-point memo, seeking immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the murder of Late Risso and handing over the culprits to the family members.
RWS is also seeking that February 22 be declared a state holiday and late Risso Tari be declared a martyr.
When asked about the ongoing Magisterial inquiry, RWS president while noting the delay, however, assured to extend full support to the inquiry.
Among others President NEFA Indigenous Human Rights Organization, Domin Loya also attended the statue unveiling.
