ITANAGAR, Sep 12: The Arunachal Pradesh Micro and Small Industries Development Association (APM&SIDA) has submitted a five point memorandum to the Textiles & Handicrafts Minister Tumke Bagra on matters concerning the state industry sector.
Addressing the media at the press club here today, APM&SIDA president, Lindum Rana said that the association feels that the industry sector is the most neglected department in the state.
The association in a memorandum submitted to the minister has demanded for the conduct of a meeting to review every single state and centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) under the department of Textiles. It also demanded the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) schemes and other centrally sponsored schemes.
The association also demanded to resolve issues regarding the state industry, implementation of public procurement policy and implementation of MSME facilitation Council Board.
“Unless there is any review meeting on the schemes by the concerned department and press briefing by the concerned minister on it, how does one expect that the youths of state avail the benefit? Therefore, the concerned department should conduct a review meeting immediately,” he said.
He also claimed that land for industrial estate acquired by the state government at Naharlagun is now occupied by the public. While some have established private residence, many have established rental houses in the area leaving no place for entrepreneurs to invest on it due to the lack of land availability.
“It is very clear that the state government allotted the place to set up industrial units and not for personal benefits. Therefore, we demand the state government to demolish the entire private structure as well as cancel the land allotment issued,” he said, adding that the youths should be provided land for new start ups.
