ITANAGAR, Sep 3:The All Arunachal Pradesh Trans Arunachal Highway Welfare Association (AAPTAHWA) has alleged the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) construction agency PWD and NHIDCL of series of irregularities in the construction of roads, thereby leading to poor quality works.
Addressing a press conference at the Press Club here on Friday, AAPTAHWA President Papu Tayem said the ignorance of not adhering to the principles and components of Detail Project Report (DPR) as per the guidelines of MoRTH in construction of ongoing TAH road construction in the state has led to serious natural disasters as well as poor quality work.
He said that no proper muck disposal plans are being identified by the construction agency which has naturally led to flood like situation in many cases. Subsequently, the action has also led to damage of various paddy fields, aquatic life, forest etc.
“The construction agency should ensure every component of road construction from Cross drainage, protection works, paved shoulders, and proper slope formation cutting and proper quality control unit etc, measures is being carried properly,” he said.
He also appealed to the state government to include a couple of members from the association in the state TAH road construction monitoring team so that every aspect of work is well checked and maintained.
Tayem said that there is no regular site Engineer along with no proper work verification by the national and state monitoring team to ensure quality work of the roads.
Earlier, on August 31, the association has in a complaint letter submitted to the Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has appealed for his interference to check the irregularities and accordingly not to release payment unless the work  found  is satisfactory.
