KHONSA, Mar 20: As part of its Civic Action Programme-Project 2020-21 which aims to strengthen the bonhomie with civilians, Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles on March 18 last distributed assistive devices to the needy people with disabilities (PwD) of its Area of Responsibility.
Five physically challenged persons received wheelchairs, ten hearing impaired were given hearing aid and ten visually impaired were given walking sticks on the occasion. A free medical camp was also conducted wherein the AR Medical Officer conducted medical check-ups and guided the patients for maintaining better health along with distribution of free medicines.
All beneficiaries conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the battalion for the initiative. DIPRO
