KHONSA, Jan 8: In continuation of its effort to maintain peace and harmony in Tirap, Changlang Longding (TCL) region by keeping the local population engaged in meaningful economic activities, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles distributed 3 sewing machines to the women of Tutnu village in Tirap district on January 7 last.
The initiative was part of Khonsa Battalion’s Civic Action Programme under the aegis of Headquarters 25 Sector Assam Rifles with the chief objective of ensuring better livelihood to the village womenfolk and building a small scale sewing industry ecosystem.
The villagers have expressed gratitude to the battalion for its efforts in bringing harmony and humanitarian aid to the locals time and again.
