CHANGLANG , May 11: The Changlang Battalion Hq of 25 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hq Inspector General (North) conducted a free medical camp and awareness lecture on Covid-19 at Yanman village on Monday last.
The medical camp provided free medicines to the people of the area where requisite medical facilities are normally not available. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health including precautions to be taken against common viral diseases was also imparted by Assistant Commandant Rohit Kumar, ARMO. A total of 110 locals (male-35, female- 57 and children -18) were checked and given medicines. As part of the camp a short talk on Covid vaccination awareness was delivered by WHO NPSP, Arunachal Pradesh Dr Geetika Vashisth. In her lecture she shared information about vaccination and Covid safety precautions.
Meanwhile, at PHC Khimiyong the first dose of Covid vaccine was administered to 23 beneficiaries of Yanman village aged 45 years and above.
