KANGKU, Dec 22:  A day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu on the inter-state boundary issue, Assam Police along with public obstructed the ongoing PMGSY road at Kangu Circle in Lower Siang district.
If reports are to be believed, on Wednesday around 11 AM people from Assam (Gugamukh) along with police obstructed the ongoing PMGSY road project and also manhandled labourers from Arunachal who were constructing the road between Likabali to Durpai village of Kangku circle under Lower Siang district.
Local villagers informed that Assam Police seized construction machines, equipment and also detained two local people from  Kangku circle.  Since the beginning of the said project, people from Assam have been obstructing the road project. But despite several requests to the local administration of   Lower Siang,  authority remains a mute spectator, they added.
Further locals appealed to the state government to deploy sufficient paramilitary forces in the ongoing PMGSY road from Likabali to Durpai of Kangku circle in order to construct road without any hindrances from the neighbouring state.
