ITANAGAR, Sep 2: With the improvement in Covid cases in the Itanagar Capital Complex and the drop in positivity rate to less than 3 per cent in the last seven days, containment measures in the capital complex have been further relaxed.
Night curfew will now be in place from 9pm to 5am with effect from September 3-30. Further, shops and commercial establishments will be allowed to open on both sides of the national highway till 8pm. However, no activities will be allowed during the curfew period except for those exempted.
The decision was taken following views and suggestions of stakeholders who attended the meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Talo Potom to discuss regarding the current covid status in the ICC as well as to review the current curfew timings.
The District Medical Officer, Dr Mandip Perme informed that the positivity rate of ICC is less than 3% in the last one week. Also, the status of vaccination coverage is the maximum amongst all the districts of the state.
He informed that the target for vaccination as per the electoral list is also achieved but since ICC has a floating population, the figures tend to differ.
railway service has also started, the DMO further informed that Random RAT would be carried out on passengers especially those suspected of COVID-19 and also those without proof of vaccination at the Railways station itself from Friday onwards.
Though the positivity rate has declined, we must ensure that COVID Appropriate Behaviour is strictly followed by all to keep the situation under control, said the DMO.
