NAMSAI, May 23: In view of the surging COVID-19 cases of the second wave in the district, District Administration Namsai has declared full containment in the district from 2 pm of Sunday to 31st May.
Tashi Yangi, Inspector, Police Station Namsai informed that entry to the district will be sealed till 31st May during the lockdown. Entries from Tezu, Changlang and Diyun will be closed and team of police will be on the ground to help the administration in maintaining the containment order. He also informed that appropriate action will be taken against violators. However, those exempted and in an emergency as well as essential services duty can move with proper SOPs.
There are more than 194 active positive cases in the district and at least seven people have lost their lives till date in Namsai district.
