ITANAGAR, May 30: Gentleman Cadet Sumwang Wangsa passed out from the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune on May 29.
He will soon be joining the Indian Military Academy(IMA) at Dehradun for further training and will eventually get commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army next year.
A native of Chasa village in Tirap District, Wangsa did his initial schooling from Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottam Nagar, Deomali, and then joined Sainik School Pungalwa, Nagaland(SSPN) in 2011. He created history by being the first cadet to have joined the premier National Defence Academy(NDA) from SSPN. He joined NDA in 2018 and underwent three years of rigorous training.
Major General Jarken Gamlin (Retd.) has conveyed heartiest congratulations to GC Wangsa and his parents on the occasion.
