KOLKATA, Dec 18: As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a 12 member contingent from Arunachal Pradesh led by Deputy Director Trade and Commerce, Toko Togur and comprising of members of leading tea brand, agro/horti entrepreneurs and handloom artisans from the state is participating in the India International Trade Fair’2021-2022 at Kolkata from December 17 to January 2 next.
The IIMTF’2021-22 was inaugurated by Governor of West Bengal, Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday, who was also presented a local jacket by team Arunachal Pradesh.
The India International Mega Trade Fair is one of the largest consumer fairs in India. It is jointly organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry & G. S. Marketing Associates–both leaders in their respective fields, supported by the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India including governments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, & West Bengal. It attracts a huge number of visitors. Many Foreign Countries, Corporate Companies, Government Ministries/ Departments & PSUs, Business Houses and traders from all over the world make this fair truly international. Arunachal Pradesh is being represented by Riya Papu of Green Gold Integrated Farm for Lalit Guava, Techi Freed of Hornbill Tea Company for organic green tea/ white tea, Dorjee Tashi for Arunachal Kiwi and Opet Jamoh for handloom products. The Arunachal Pavilion has attracted a lot of visitors for its organic products.

15 foreign countries alongwith 22 Indian States are taking part in the fair. In the 20th edition of the fair, Arunachal Pradesh is the focus state and Kerala is the partner state. In the international category, while Bangladesh is the partner country, Iran is the focus country and Tunisia is the highlighted country.
