7 wards in ICR to be declared as Micro Containment Areas

ITANAGAR, May 5: District Medical Officer, ICR Dr Mandip Perme in a letter to the DC, ICR has proposed to declare Wards 6, 9, and 12 of Itanagar, Wards 14, 15 and 18 of Naharlagun and Ward 19 of Nirjuli and Banderdewa to be declared as Micro Containment Areas.
The suggestion has been made with the target to break the chain of transmission in the said areas and to prevent a further spread to the adjoining areas. It’s relevant to mention that although Covid positive cases have been detected in all wards in the ICR, clustering of positive cases have been observed in the above wards which has led to the micro containment suggestion.
