ITANAGAR, Jul 12: Arunachal’s Covid situation on Monday deteriorated considerably with a record 566 citizens getting infected and two dying. In ICC, the scenario has worsened with 138 more Covid patients added to the overall tally and positivity rate touching 11%.
Casualties
At DCHC Tezu, a 63-year old female Covid patient from Lohit passed away on Monday. A 50-yr old female from the ICC died on Sunday at DCH Chimpu. Both the deceased had comorbidities, were not vaccinated and died due to ARDS with Covid pneumonia. With these additions, the state’s Covid casualty tally is now 191.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
A total of 566 new cases (asymptomatic 343; symptomatic 223) were recorded from across the state, with ICC surpassing all districts with 138, followed by West Kameng (76) Lohit (39), Papum Pare (34) and West Siang (31). There were a total of 364 new recoveries and the first 5 districts were ICC (80), Tawang (36), West Kameng (34), Changlang (30) and Pakke Kessang (26). The state’s active caseload has increased to 3918 and total recoveries has reached 36274. 6140 samples were collected from across the state with 1223 from the ICC.
Occupancy status
Till 8 pm on July 12, it was 43 at DCH Chimpu, 53 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 8 at DCH Pasighat and 19 at DCHC.
