ITANAGAR, Apr 14: The state’s Covid scenario continued to remain grim for the second successive day with the detection of 10 new positive cases on Wednesday.
With this, the state’s total active Covid tally has now reached 64. According to the daily COVID-19 bulletin released this evening, of the 10 new cases detected, 6 are in the ICR and 2 each in Lower Dibang Valley and East Siang. After recovery and discharge of a patient in LDV, Arunachal’s recovery/discharge has reached 16792 and a total of 296 samples were collected on the day with 100 from the ICR and 118 from West Kameng accounting the bulk. As on April 14, 418290 samples have been collected, 406691 tested and 388947 found negative.
In terms of vaccination coverage, as on April 7, 2021, 89146 (75.7%) beneficiaries out of the total 117694 registered beneficiaries have been vaccinated with the 1st dose and 27142 (23%) beneficiaries out of 117694 registered beneficiaries have been vaccinated with the 2nd dose. Out of 25321 HCW registered beneficiaries, vaccination coverage with the 1st and 2nd doses is (17342) 68.4% and (12803) 50.5 % respectively. Out of 55524 FLW registered beneficiaries, vaccination coverage with the 1st dose and 2nd dose is (35557) 64% and (11987) 21.5 % respectively. Out of a total of 36849 general citizens above 45 years as registered beneficiaries, 36247 have been vaccinated with the 1st dose and 2352 have been vaccinated with the 2nd one.
It’s encouraging to note that Arunachal’s vaccine wastage is less than 1% at present. As per Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN), as on April 6, 84,940 COVID vaccine doses were available in the state and stored at various cold chain points which is adequate for running COVID Vaccination Centre (CVC) for next 18 days which is till April 24. A total of 343 CVCs are currently functional across the state to carry forward the vaccination target.
