ITANAGAR, Jun 1:  With the lone casualty of a Covid patient today in the Itanagar Capital Region, the state’s death toll due to Covid on Tuesday stood at 116, although  fresh cases overtook recoveries.
The only death due to Covid was of a 40-yr old female at the RKMH who was not vaccinated with any of the doses and expired due to Covid pneumonia.  Of  the 370 new cases added on the day, 81 were from the ICR, 30 each from Changlang and LDV, 32 from Lower Subansiri and 23 each from Tawang and West Kameng. Upper Subansiri retained the highest positivity rate like Monday with 24% on the day. After the rise, active Covid cases of the state stood at 3772. There were 352 recoveries on the day with ICR 64, Changlang 45, Upper Siang 40, Tawang 38, Namsai 35 and LDV 27 the first 6 districts. The new recoveries took the state’s discharge tally to  23754. 6519 samples were collected on the day from across the state which is a notable  improvement over the previous day.
As on date, only 3 % of the 18-44 age group have been vaccinated (dose 1) and 42% in the 45+ age group (both doses) in the state. Occupancy status at the CCCs as of June 1- 49 at DCH Chimpu, 39 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 7 at DCH Pasighat and 33 at DCHC.
