ITANAGAR, Jul 8: In terms of casualties it was a comparatively better day for the state on Thursday compared to the previous day with just one casualty and recoveries also improving.
Casualties
The lone casualty was of a 52-yr old female from the ICC who expired on Wednesday at her residence in Tago village, Yazali due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. She was suffering from comorbidity and was vaccinated with dose 1. With this, the state Covid casualty count stands at 185.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 399 new cases (asymptomatic 227; symptomatic 172) recorded from across the state, ICC retained the top slot with 109 cases, followed by East Siang (42), Changlang (29), West Kameng (28) and Upper Subansiri (27). Among the 301 new recoveries, the first 5 districts were ICC (64), Kurung Kumey (61), Upper Subansiri (33) and Changlang and Lohit (20 each). As of Thursday evening, the state’s active caseload was 3460 and recoveries 35037. A total of 5599 samples were collected in total from across the state.
Vaccination
With 7832 beneficiaries taking their 1st dose, the coverage percentage for the '18 years and above' age category has now reached 70 and 3486 received their 2nd shots which improved the coverage to 19 %.
Occupancy status
Till 8 pm on July 8, it was 48 at DCH Chimpu, 40 at SQF Lekhi, 2 at DCHC Midpu, 10 at DCH Pasighat and 29 at DCHC.
