ITANAGAR, Jul 26: Two more deaths on Monday have taken the Covid casualty toll of the state to 218 and while there were 490 new cases, only 435 were declared as Covid-recovered.
Casualties
A 73-yr old female Covid patient from the ICC who was suffering from hypertension and was not vaccinated died today at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. At DCHC Tawang, a 90-yr old male from Tawang who was suffering from comorbidities and was fully vaccinated expired today due to severe ARDS.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 490 new cases recorded on Saturday (asymptomatic 221; symptomatic 269), ICC has the largest share with 136 (positivity rate 12 %) followed by Papum Pare (35), Changlang (34), Lohit (32) and Lower Subansiri and Upper Subansiri (31 each). 18 cases were recorded in West Siang today (10% positivity).
A total of 435 new recoveries were recorded on the day that took the state’s count to 41820, the first 5 districts were ICC (114), Lohit (40), Papum Pare (15), Lower Subansiri (33) and Upper Subansiri (21). 6574 samples were collected from across the state on the day with the highest from the ICC (1146). The number of Covid active patients in the state is now 4319.
Vaccination
Under the '18 years and above' age category, 4019 took their 1st jabs (coverage 63% so far) and 3397 their 2nd (16% coverage so far).
Occupancy status
At DCH Chimpu it was 55, at SQF Lekhi 31, 1 at DCHC Midpu, 10 at DCH Pasighat and 27 at DCHC as of July 26 (8 pm).
Containment Zones
The number of containment zones in the state is now 58 and the total number of Covid positive cases in such zones is 1054.
