ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Although recoveries saw an improvement over the previous day’s figures, the gap with new cases was still prominent on Saturday and with 2 more citizens dying due to Covid, the state’s casualty tally has now crossed 200.
Casualties
A 28-yr old female Covid patient from West Kameng who was not vaccinated and was free from comorbidities died today at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. A 65-yr old male Covid patient from Lower Subansiri under home isolation died today at his residence in Hapoli. He was a cancer patient and the immediate cause of death has been mentioned as Hepatic Encephalopathy. His vaccination status was nil. The state’s Covid casualty count is now 201 after these deaths.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 475 new cases (asymptomatic 261; symptomatic 214) recorded from across the state, with 17% positivity and 129 new cases, ICC remained the number one Covid hotspot in the state. Namsai (51), West Kameng (48), Lower Subansiri (33) and East Siang(26) followed next.  In West Siang cases have fallen to 11 (positivity rate after declining is now  5 %). Out of the total 412 recoveries, the first 4 districts were ICC (105), East Siang (38) , West Kameng (33), and Lohit  (32). The state’s active caseload is now 4323 and 38040 citizens have recovered so far.  5354 samples were collected in total from across the state, with the highest from the ICC (750).  
Vaccination
3955  beneficiaries under the '18 years and above' age category were vaccinated on the day with the 1st dose that took the coverage percentage to 60 and 3132  received their 2nd shots (13% coverage so far).
Occupancy status
It was 44 at DCH Chimpu, 47 at SQF Lekhi, 3 at DCHC Midpu, 9 at DCH Pasighat and 22 at DCHC till 8 pm on Saturday.
