Weighlifters win 2 gold, a silver & bronze at the KIYG

ITANAGAR, Feb 7: Day 9 of the Khelo India Youth Games brought good news for Arunachal Pradesh as it won 2 Gold, a Silver & a Bronze medal today in weightlifting competition.
Miss Boni Mangkhya created a new national record in 55kg weight category and won the gold by lifting 176kg in total. Sankar Lapung, also won the gold medal in 61kg weight category by lifting 248kg in total. Markio Tario, won silver medal in 67 kg weight category by lifting 269kg while Bengia Tani, won the bronze medal in 67 kg weight category by lifting 267kg in total.
So far, Arunachal Pradesh has won 7 medal (2 Gold Medal, 1 Silver & 4 Bronze medal) and stands 17th Rank in overall medal tally & 2nd rank in North-eastern state.
