ITANAGAR, Apr 9: In what could be termed a rare feat for an Arunachalee at the mainstream beauty pageant, Dr. Duyu Meena Mudang was crowned 2nd Runners Up at the just concluded Mrs. India North 2017 held at Radisson Blu, New Delhi. Dr. Meena was also adjudged Mrs. Remarkable along with the title of the 2nd Runners Up after four days of rigorous training and competition, personal interview and personality assessment as a whole at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Paschim Vihar, Delhi from 5th to 8th April 2017.

'Mrs. India' is India's largest National Platform to showcase Beauty, Glamour, Talent and Culture of Indian Married woman. The contestants are screened through a series of selection process and the audition for the Northeast states was held at Shillong on 10th December 2016. The finale was judged on Tradition, Fitness, Evening gown and Q&A.

Daughter of Duyu Sambyo and Taru Rinyo of Reru Village, Lower Subansiri, Dr. Meena is a doting mother of three and is married to Er. Mudang Tacho, Senior Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

Dr. Duyu Meena Mudang currently serves as the Medical officer at Lor Potung Homeopathic Dispensary, Itanagar and apart from her time serving as a dedicated Medical professional she is involved in many social works. She is the founding member of Mudang Laling Charitable Trust and an active member of SMILE ZIRO, a registered NGO. She is also an active member of Mission Clean Kley River.

Her win at the Mrs. India North 2017 has become a source of inspiration for career women, homemaker and married women to chase their dreams to come true, thus breaking the stereotype.

Her costumes at the pageant were designed by renowned Fashion Designer, Nabam Aka and shoes by renowned footwear designer Filafi Fithu from Nagaland.
