HARYANA, Jun 5: Sandiya Gungli and Chera Tania clinched the first medal for the state in the fourth edition of ongoing Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG)-2021 by winning Silver medals each in Girls and Mens weightlifting category, respectively.
Sandiya participated in the 40 kg category and snatched 47, and clean and jerk of 64 with a total of 110 kg.
Meanwhile, Tania bagged the Silver medal in 55 kg category by snatch-92 and clean & jerk of 120 with a total of 212.
Mukund Aher from Maharashtra won the Gold medal and Raja Bharti from Chattisgarh won the Bronze.
While Sandiya won Silver, Kajol Sargar of Maharashtra won Gold (113kg) and Rekhamoni Gogoi of Assam won the Bronze (109kg) in the women's category.
One, Yukar Amak from Arunachal Pradesh finished 4th in 45 kg (girls category) weight lifting. She snatch 46, and clean & jerk 63. She missed bronze. This is the first day of the KIYG-2021.
