NEW DELHI, Feb 24: Arunachal Pradesh has bagged the ‘Best Performing State’ award in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme among all Northeast states and hilly regions.
Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has chosen the state for the award for achieving the highest percentage of Aadhar seeded beneficiaries for 2020-21 which is 98%. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented the award today in the national capital in a ceremony organized to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of successful implementation of PM-KISAN. State’s Minister of Agriculture Tage Taki and State Nodal Officer, PM-KISAN Idar Nyori received the award from Tomar. Congratulating the Department of Agriculture, Taki said the award authenticates the efficient implementation of the scheme and sheer dedication of the team of officers and field functionaries who worked tirelessly to achieve the milestone.
It needs mentioning that the State’s Department of Agriculture is the nodal agency for implementation of the PM-KISAN scheme launched by the Prime Minister on February 24, 2019. Under it, income support is provided to all eligible landholding farmers families across the country to enable them for taking care of expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as for domestic needs.
Under PM-KISAN, an income support of Rs. 6000 per annum is provided to an eligible farmer after receipt of verified data and their validation through Aadhar/PFMS. SNO- PM-KISAN PR
