ITANAGAR, Nov 6: State Health Minister, Alo Libang today virtually conducted a review meeting on the progress of Covid-19 vaccination with all the heads of the districts. The meeting was conducted following the suggestion by the Prime Minister during the video conference held on 3rd November focussed on districts that are lagging behind achieving 100% COVID-19 vaccination.
The Minister interacted with the DMOs, DRCHOs, Vaccine Cold Chain Managers (VCCM) and other DPMSU staff who attended the meeting. The district officials shared their respective progress made and also the challenges faced in the COVID-19 vaccination drive.
During the meeting, Dr. D Padung, State Immunization Officer, presented the detailed update on the COVID-19 Vaccination of Arunachal Pradesh and guidance note on ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ COVID-19 Vaccination. As on 5th November 2021, out of total 10,09,000 in the 18 years and above age group (as per Census projection 2011), 7,78,497 (77%) 1st dose and  5,50,231 (55%) 2nd dose have been administered.
Addressing the meeting, Mission Director (NHM), CR Khampa stressed that inorder to accelerate the inoculation drive and achieve 100% coverage, MoH&FW has initiated ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign for special house-to-house Covid-19 vaccination focussed on those whose second dose is overdue and to further augment the campaign, the state has incorporated cluster approach COVID-19 Vaccination.
Under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ cluster approach, a robust micro plan will be prepared by each district for every circle. All villages under each circle will be mapped. The detailed vaccination plan will be prepared for every single village.
 The timelines have been set for all the preparatory activities and districts instructed for the rollout of the Har Ghar Dastak Cluster approach COVID-19 vaccination from 8th November. The initiative will be implemented intensively till 30th November 2021 targeting 100% 1st dose COVID-19 vaccination in every village, he added.
Following detailed discussion, Minister Alo Libang took note of all the challenges faced and  gave suggestions and encouraged the district teams to gear up for implementing the Har Ghar Dastak strategy. He assured the districts of necessary support in order to accomplish the mission of scaling up and achieving 100% COVID-19 vaccination through this strategy.
