ITANAGAR, Mar 2: Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar today attended a review meeting on the preparedness of ‘Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, a nation-wide celebration planned by the Union government for commemorating India’s 75th Independence Day through videoconferencing here from the state capital.
The meeting which was convened by Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and participated by the Chief Secretaries of all states and UTs discussed the plans and programmes to be taken for the celebration of Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav to be launched by the Prime Minister on March 12. The Mahotsav will showcase the country’s accomplishments since 1947 so as to instill a sense of pride among people and create a vision for ‘India@2047’. It will be spread over 75 weeks prior to the Independence Day of 2022 and extend up to the Independence Day of 2023. In Arunachal Pradesh, celebrations will be launched simultaneously on March 12 at the capital’s DK Convention Hall and Kekar Monying in Siang district for its historical significance in the context of India’s freedom struggle. As a part of celebrations, cycle rallies in Pasighat, Roing and Tezu have been planned besides other activities like painting competitions, cultural programmes, exhibitions etc.
DGP R P Upadhyaya, Commissioner Home Kaling Tayeng, Secretary Art & Culture Remo Kamki and Director Art & Culture Tamuna Messar also participated in the videoconference.
