ITANAGAR, Sep 8: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested one person for allegedly issuing forged sports certificates to various people to grab government jobs through Sports Quota.
The accused identified as one Tara Tagin, who is also the General Secretary of Arunachal Taekwondo Association (ATA) was arrested for allegedly issuing fake certificates of international, national and regional Taekwondo events to the candidates who are applying for sports quota in various government jobs.
Speaking about the case, Superintendent of Police ( in-charge) SIT- Bosco George informed that as per the FIR lodged by President Arunachal Taekwondo Association, Kipa Kaha in the month of June about the fake sports certificates, team SIT made an inquiry, and on July 6 last registered case U/S 420/460(a)/471 r.w 34 -IPC.
“Based on the FIR and investigation, it was found that fake certificates were issued using the name of the association. These candidates have applied and used the fake certificates for government jobs in Education Department and for Junior engineers in the Department of Power. During the investigation, one Tara Tagin was found involved in issuing the fake certificates," said the SP while informing that he was evading arrest since then and applied anticipatory bail from the court.
However, on 4th September, Tara was arrested by the SIT and remanded to 8-day police custody.
