ITANAGAR, JAN 25: The Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has meticulously prepared a vibrant tableau for the Bharat Parv celebrations at the Red Fort, New Delhi, marking the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. This year, the tableau captures the spirit of "Samriddhi ka Mantra – Aatmanirbhar Bharat" by highlighting the state's emergence as the Adventure Capital of India.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the display invites the nation to explore the state’s rugged terrains, pristine waters, and sky-high peaks, positioning tourism and sports as core pillars of self-reliance and youth empowerment for the region. The tableau underscores a "New Arunachal" where sports development has reached unprecedented heights, moving beyond the iconic hubs of Tawang, Dirang, and Mechuka to emphasize a state-wide network of adventure. From the challenging heights of Gorichen Peak for mountaineering and the technical river rapids of the Siang and Lohit for rafting, kayaking, and water crossing, to the scenic valleys of Ziro and Anini perfect for paragliding and trekking, the display showcases world-class infrastructure that caters to land, air, and water activities including winter sports like skiing and snow trekking.
A central highlight of the showcase is the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) in Dirang, spotlighted as a premier national training hub for land, air, and water activities, including specialized disciplines like paramotoring, rock climbing, and rappelling. The tableau further reflects the state's commitment to excellence by highlighting the massive boost in sports infrastructure under the Khanduadministration, including the establishment of 58 Khelo India Centres and the hosting of prestigious national events like the 77th Santosh Trophy and the SAFF U-19 Championship. By featuring major international events such as the Border Adventure Championships and the grueling adventure races in the "Enchanted Valley" of Mechuka, the display reinforces Arunachal’s readiness to host global sports enthusiasts.
Through this exhibition, the Information & Public Relations Department aims to showcase a state where every district offers unique opportunities for mountain biking, wildlife safaris, and high-altitude exploration, inviting the world to experience the indomitable spirit of the "Land of the Rising Sun" and its journey toward a Viksit Arunachal.
