ITANAGAR, Aug 8: Arunachal Pradesh continued to report recoveries surpassing new cases on Sunday; however two deaths took the state's Covid casualty tally to 242.
Casualties
A 50-year-old man, native of Lower Subansiri district died in home isolation at Hapoli due to Covid pneumonia. He was vaccinated with the first dose in July and had no comorbidity. The second casualty was reported from East Siang where a 55-year-old man with comorbidities died due to severe Covid-19 infection at AMC Dibrugarh. The deceased was fully vaccinated.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 154 new cases (asymptomatic 114; symptomatic 40) recorded from across the state, the first three districts were -ICC (52; 7.7% positivity), West Kameng (28; 6.7% positivity rate ) and Lohit (25; 8.7% positivity rate).
A total of 345 recoveries recorded on Sunday, the first three districts are ICC (106), Lower Subansiri (32) & Changlang (32) and Upper Subansiri (22).
Occupancy status
There were 55 at DCH Chimpu, 12 at SQF Lekhi, 1 at DCHC Midpu, 7 at DCH Pasighat and 9 at DCHC as per Sunday’s State Covid Bulletin.
Containment Zones
The number of Containment Zones have further declined to 29 (across 10 districts) and the total number of positive cases in such zones has also fallen to 570.
