ITANAGAR, Jul 27: Although recoveries were more than new cases on Tuesday, there were three Covid-induced casualties that took the toll to 221.
Casualties
In Changlang district a 64-yr old female Covid patient who was suffering from hypertension and diabetes and was not vaccinated died today at her residence due to Covid pneumonia. At AMCH Dibrugarh a 43-yr old male from Lohit who was not suffering from comorbidities and was not vaccinated expired today due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. Meanwhile, at DCH Chimpu an 80-yr old male from Upper Subansiri who was not suffering from comorbidities and was not vaccinated expired on Monday evening due to ARDS plus Covid pneumonia.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
A total of 443 new cases were recorded on the day (asymptomatic 263; symptomatic 180). With 123 cases (positivity rate 12 %), ICC remained the most severely-affected district followed by Lower Subansiri (47), Papum Pare (37) and Namsai(27). In West Siang 18 cases were recorded today (12 % positivity).
Of the 472 new recoveries were recorded on the day that took the state’s count to 42292, the first 6 districts were ICC (116), West Kameng (51), Namsai (50), Lower Subansiri (33) and Lohit and Papum Pare (25 each). 6447 samples were collected from across the state on Tuesday with 1000 from the ICC. As of July 27 (8 pm), the number of Covid active patients in the state stood at 4287.
Vaccination
Coverage in the '18 years and above' age category reached 63% on the day with 2600 beneficiaries taking their 1st jabs. 2056 also took their 2nd jabs (16% coverage so far).
Occupancy status
At DCH Chimpu it was 50, at SQF Lekhi 32, 2 at DCHC Midpu, 11 at DCH Pasighat and 30 at DCHC at 8 pm on July 27.
Containment Zones
The number of containment zones in the state has reached 61 after addition of 3 more. The total number of Covid positive cases as a result has also increased to 1102.
