ITANAGAR, Aug 6: Arunachal Pradesh on Friday recorded just a single Covid-related death that took the casualty count to 237. The gap between recoveries and new infections was nearly 200 with recoveries (420) surpassing fresh infections (227) handsomely.
Casualties
At DCHC Tezu, a 43-yr old male Covid patient from Lohit died today due to Covid pneumonia. He was suffering from lung ailment and was not vaccinated.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Covid situation in ICC was the best in recent weeks with only 53 new cases and positivity rate falling to 7%. Of the state’s total 227 new cases (asymptomatic 141; symptomatic 86), the districts that followed next were Lower Subansiri (44), Lohit (24), West Kameng (12), East Siang (11) and Lower Subansiri and Tawang (10 each). West Siang recorded 5 new cases (3.6 % positivity).
ICC topped with 136 among the state’s overall  420 recoveries followed by Lower Subansiri (47),  Papum Pare (35), Namsai (27), Tirap (24), Lohit (20), West Kameng (22) and West Siang (19). 4847 samples were collected from across the state, highest from the ICC (760) followed by Papum Pare (563) and West Kameng (491). The total number of Covid active patients in the state as of August 6 was 3032 and recoveries 46399.  
Vaccination
In the '18 years and above' age category 2411 beneficiaries were vaccinated with dose 1 on Friday (65 % coverage) and 1032 with 2nd  jabs (17% coverage).   
Occupancy status
As of August 6 (8 pm), there were 56 at DCH Chimpu, 15 at SQF Lekhi, 1 at DCHC Midpu, 3 at DCH Pasighat and 11 at DCHC.  
Containment Zones
Containment Zones have declined to 32 in number (across 10 districts) and the total number of positive cases in such zones has also fallen to 590.
