ITANAGAR, Jul 28: Arunachal Pradesh has projected Rs 77 Crore as fund requirement for COVID-19 till December 2020 to the Government of India, informed Health Secretary P Parthiban while addressing mediapersons during a virtual press conference today.
Responding to query on any fund crunch in the fight against COVID -19, the Health Secretary categorically informed that there is no fund crunch related to the pandemic. Out of the projected fund requirement of Rs 77 Crore, the state government under the National Health Mission has received Rs 19 Crore.   
Disclosing about fund spent on COVID-19 in the state, the Secretary said that the state government has utilised Rs 19 Crore from NHM, Rs 3.5 Crore from North East Council (NEC), Rs15 Crore under Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh (MMRKK), Rs 2 Crore from state Non-Plan Fund and at least Rs 22 to 25 Crore under state disaster relief fund (SDRF) which has been subsequently distributed to all the districts.  
Further, replying to query on availability of medicines for symptomatic patients, Parthiban informed that as of now the state health department has sufficient medicines in stock specially for moderate symptomatic cases maintaining the established clinical protocol issued by the central government. 
"Moreover, the Department is ensuring that there should be enough oxygen, ventilator, Anti-viral drugs and other necessary medicines."
On the extension of lockdown in the Capital Region, the Health Secretary informed that they have sought a proposal from Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) regarding what necessary steps would be required after August 3 next and the same proposal will be tabled in the Cabinet for final decision. 
"Observing the current situation, I don’t think more lockdown would be needed. However, it will be decided by the Cabinet after reviewing the proposal/ action plan of DC, ICR," he stated.
