New Delhi, Mar 26: The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has entered into an agreement with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for onboarding as an Authentication User Agency (AUA) and e-KYC User Agency (KUA). The agreement was executed at UIDAI Headquarters, New Delhi.
Under this arrangement, the Department of Information Technology & Communication (IT&C) has been designated as the Nodal Department for the implementation and operationalisation of Aadhaar authentication services in the State.
The agreement execution was attended by T. Techi, Project Coordinator & TPOC-cum-State Nodal Officer (AUA/KUA), Department of IT&C, along with Mohit Kundu, State e-Mission Team (SeMT), Arunachal Pradesh, representing the State Government.
The initiative enables the State Government to utilise UIDAI’s Aadhaar authentication and e-KYC framework to strengthen digital service delivery and improve transparency and efficiency in public services.
Authentication User Agency (AUA): Enables real-time Aadhaar authentication for verification of beneficiary identity during service delivery. KYC User Agency (KUA): Facilitates secure and paperless e-KYC services for identity verification.
The framework is expected to support the implementation of digital public service platforms, including the electronic Inner Line Permit (eILP) system, enabling faster processing, secure identity validation, and streamlined workflows.
The AUA/KUA infrastructure will enable Aadhaar-based authentication for the delivery of various citizen services, such as: Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC). Scheduled Tribe Certificate (STC), Health Insurance and welfare schemes and Other e-Governance services.
Further, the Department of IT&C will function as the State-level AUA/KUA provider, allowing other government departments to integrate their services as Sub-AUA/Sub-KUA, thereby enabling a standardised authentication framework across departments.
This initiative is expected to strengthen service delivery mechanisms, enhance transparency, and support Aadhaar-enabled digital governance initiatives in the State.
