ITANAGAR, Aug 11: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) was sworn-in as the Governor of Mizoram today. The Gauhati High Court Judge, Justice Michael Zothankhuma administered the oath of office to the Governor at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Aizawl.
Chief Minister Zoramthanga, Deputy Chief Minister Tawnluia, Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly Lalrinliana Sailo, council of Ministers and leaders of political parties were present in the swearing-in ceremony. Amongst others, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officials of the State Administration were also present at the ceremony.
Brig. (Dr.) Mishra (Retd.) will discharge the functions of the Governor of Mizoram, in addition to his own duties, during the absence on leave of Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Mizoram.
Brig. (Dr.) Mishra (Retd.) is the 23rd Governor of Mizoram.
