Pasighat, Aug 19: Joining the rest of the world, World Photography Day was observed by Arunachal Photography Club with the theme: Wildlife Conservation & Global Warming at Pasighat. A photo exhibition showcasing the rich biodiversity potential, portraiture, culture & landscape of our state was displayed at a city hotel. 30 students of various schools of Pasighat participated in the workshop on ‘Basics of Photography’. 
Bengia Mrinal in his presidential address to the gathering briefed about the activities of the registered Club & its future plans to involve the young minds to explore their hidden talents for documentation of the rich cultural and biodiversity of our state. 
Superintendent of Police, Upper Siang Jummar Basar attended the event as chief guest. While addressing the students, he encouraged them to take up photography as a professional career and contribute towards wildlife conservation & promote the rich cultural heritage and biodiversity potential of the state. 
DFO Pasighat Division Tashi Mize and Dr Kaling Megu, CMD Healthcare Hospital also spoke regarding the efforts of the department in wildlife conservation & impact of global warming respectively. 
A photo-walk with the participants on Street Photography was also conducted.
Prizes for ‘Photo of the Day’ and  winners of Photography contest themed ‘Explore the Unexplored’ was also announced and given away. 
A photo of Nyiusa Village of Longding District by Tamir Tapak was adjudged the winner and Lada Circle of East Kameng by Likha Lelly as the runner’s up. Dena Perme won the ‘Photo of the Day’ contest on Street Photography.
