NEW DELHI, Feb 1: The two-day foundation-cum-interactive meeting with all State Women Commissions (SWCs) organized by the National Commission for Women (NCW) concluded today here in the national capital wherein Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) was represented by its Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi and Member Techi Hunmai.
On the first day of the meeting on January 31 which was NCW’s Foundation Day, women Covid warriors were felicitated. The concluding day saw discussions on action taken by the SWCs on key aspects such as promoting financial literacy among women and their empowerment. APSCW submitted a list of top ten women entrepreneurs of Arunachal Pradesh to the NCW. There were deliberations on assisting the NCW on social audit of non-aided NGOs running private shelter homes, exploring feasibility of setting up mental health Helpline for psychosocial counseling of women in association with state run psychiatric institutions, identifying and sharing of high performing women entrepreneurs in respective states, adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during handling of rape victims, facilitating the network of Common Service Centers available at Panchayat level by the SWCs etc.
All SWCs participated in the meeting and shared their viewpoints on various topics and problems faced by women in their respective states. APSCW PR
