ITANAGAR, Jul 27: The Covid-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 65,409 on Tuesday after 72 more people tested positive for the infection, 48 more than the previous day, a senior health official informed here. The toll remained unchanged at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. Arunachal Pradesh, which remained virus-free for the last couple of months, had been witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases since July 1, much like some other parts of the country, the SSO said.
Among the new cases, 18 were reported from the Capital Complex Region, eight from East Siang, Namsai (7) and six from Lower Subansiri district. Arunachal Pradesh currently has 302 active cases, while 64,709 people recuperated thus far including, 29 on Monday, he said. The recovery rate stands at 98.93 per cent, while the active ratio stood at 0.62 per cent, Dr Jampa said. A total of 12,80,924 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the state thus far, including 302 on Monday, Jampa added. So far over a total of 17,91,796 people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the state, State Immunisation Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
