ITANAGAR, Jun 28: Heavy rain and flash floods created havoc in the state and claimed at least four lives in different locations of the state on Tuesday. Many  districts were affected  badly due to flash flood, landslide and water logging.
Flash flood swept away four persons near Huto Village under Balijan Circle of Papumpare. Among the four persons one boy could manage to escape. Moreover, the  Search and Rescue team of NDRF and local police could retrieve body of a woman identified as Hillang  Boni (19). NDRF and local police are still conducting search and rescue operation for the remaining missing persons, stated a press statement from the NDRF.
In another incident a massive landslide occurred near the under construction water plant of Hollongi airport where one person miraculously escaped with injuries ,however another person unfortunately was buried by landslide. NDRF conducted Search and Rescue Operation and retrieved the body of the deceased.
A 36-year- old woman was buried by landslide and three others of the same family have been injured in a same incident at Takar Colony, Naharlagun . The deceased has been identified as Sangio Yapa (36 yrs), and the injured are Sangio Yatup (65 yrs), Sangio Yanu (2 Yrs) and Sangio Tabu (38 yrs).
In West Siang, heavy landslide triggered by incessant rain has claimed yet another life of a worker. Heavy landslide at construction side under TAH Pakage -9 near Darka village buried alive the workers. The dead body has been retrieved from the incident site, reported DDMO West Siang.
Earlier, DDMA, Siang evacuated six  stranded labourers of BRO who were stranded at their camps located at 1448 RCC DETT, Boleng  after their camp were washed away by flood.
Further, flood damage reported along the  bank of Sibo Korong river, Sibut village and Yapgo area in East Siang District.
The torrential rain on Monday has created havoc in Siang Valley.
The district headquarters of Boleng has been cut off from the rest of the world due to heavy road blockade at Pasighat-Pangin Road, Rumgong-Boleng Road, Aalo-Pangin Road, Pasighat- Yingkiong Road and others.
As per Pasighat Highway Division,  NH-513 (Pasighat Mariyang-Yingkiong road) was blocked at point  14.700 Km,16.500 Km and 18.100Km in Pasighat -Singer section and at 54.100Km and 61.200Km in Yingkiong-Gobuk section.Machineries have been mobilised to restore the road blockade.
NH-13(Pangin Pasighat  road) blocked near Sirpo area under NHIDCL stretch  and NH-13(Pasighat-Mebo-Dambuk-Bomjir  road) was open for traffic.
Flood  damage was also  reported along the  banks of Sibo Korong river, Sibut village and Rani WRC area nearby the bank of Pagla River,  and Yapgo area in East Siang District.
Tebo stream was also in spate but no damage reported from Tebo area.
An excavator had been pressed at Sibut to control flood water of Pagla (Poglek) river.
The Siang River water level was recorded at 152.85 meter which was 1.11 m below the danger level of 153.96 meter.
Today's rainfall 470 mm was second highest since 1997. During 17/7/2004, it was 714 mm according to Executive Engineer, WRD, Pasighat Division Gonong Pertin.
Pasighat to Pangin Road was closed and  barricaded at Sille Bridge (Sille Korong) , near Dangoria Baba Mandir closed for vehicular movement till further notice due to road damage caused by Sille river.
DDMA,  Siang District evacuated 6 (six)  stranded labourers of BRO this morning who were stranded as their camps located at 1448 RCC DETT, Boleng were washed away by flood water on 27th June as Siang River spilled over its bank.The victims were provided with immediate relief.
