ITANAGAR, Feb 17: ‘Arunachal Ek Safarnama- a vision reborn’, theatre play directed by Riken Ngomle is all set to captivate the audience, showcasing the 50 years of journey of the state from 1972 till date on February 19 next at DK Convention Hall.
Th play is an initiative of the state government in collaboration with the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi to celebrate the Golden Jubilee celebration of Arunachal Pradesh.
Appealing to the people of the state to witness the show, Riken said that every effort has been made by the team of artists to ensure the essence of the play is maintained, which is to showcase the various changes in terms of infrastructure development, culture & tradition, the problems faced by its people and much more.
He said a theatrical play is an assembled effort. Hence, it took more than a month for him to complete the play incorporating different ideas from the artist, who are entirely from the state.
Riken also informed that more than 50 local artists will be performing the play.
“Not many artists performing in the play are graduates from NSD. Few are new, who were once my students. However, they have gone through one month of workshops and are now set for the show,” he said.
One the sidelines, Riken also said that there are numerous local artists who have the potential to replace other actors in terms of promoting the state and also build a better field of entertainment.
Riken is the first from the state to be appointed as Assistant Professor (Acting) at the prestigious NSD, New Delhi.
