Itanagar, Jan 6: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday described as "highly condemnable" the security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab and said the “institution of Prime Minister is above partisan politics and should be respected by all”.
He also suggested the Congress-led government in Punjab take “strongest action" against those responsible for the incident.
In a serious security lapse, PM Modi, who was to address a rally in Punjab on Wednesday, was stuck on the highway for over 20 minutes after protesting farmers blocked the road.  Expressing concerns over the ‘Punjab episode’, the Arunachal CM, taking to his Twitter handle wrote: “The security & protocol breach yesterday in Hon'ble PM @narendramodi ji's tour is highly condemnable.”

“Punjab government should take (the) strongest action against those responsible,” Khandu tweeted.
“The Institution of Prime Minister is above partisan politics and should be respected by all,” he said.
