Itanagar, July 29: Showing strong dissent against the Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s offensive remark on President Droupadi Murmu, the BJP Arunachal Pradesh on Friday staged a demonstration in front of its State headquarters here and also demanded the grand old party to apologize to the whole country in this regard.
During the protest, the BJP workers burnt the effigies of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
The Congress MP from Berhampore (West Bengal) recently addressed President Droupadi Murmu as “Rashtrapatni” thereby insulting the highest constitutional post. State BJP spokesperson Dr Mohesh Chai said: “This is an insult not only to the First Citizen of
India but also to all the women and the tribal community of India. The State BJP strongly condemns and demands that the Congress party should apologize to the whole country for this intentional derogatory remark against the President of India.”
