ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi has categorically stated that the provisions with reference to Arunachal Pradesh and other North Eastern States under Article 371 in the Indian constitution are ‘special’ and ‘permanent’ provisions that shall never be abrogated.
The Minister stated so while  delivering the keynote address on “Abrogation of Article 370 and 35 (A) in Jammu & Kashmir : A step towards National integration” under the 8th Rutum Kamgo Memorial Lecture organised by Arunachal Pradesh Charitable Task (APCT) in memory of its founder secretary and social worker Late Rutum Kamgo here at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall today. Speaking on the misuse on provisions of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir he said that those provisions had only contributed to poverty, under-development and exploitation of people and their resources by a few political families in Jammu & Kashmir over the last 70 years. The abrogation of the article has brought real independence in Jammu and Kashmir and the ensured growth of its people through their active participation through the Panchyati Raj system which is newly constituted, he added.
Earlier while recalling his association with the people of Arunachal Pradesh and North East during the SEIL tour experiences, Sarangi praised the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the state. Chief Minister Pema Khandu also stated the special provisions under Article 371 shall never be abrogated. Referring to the special attention and support being given to Arunachal Pradesh by Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister said that the union government and its ministers are coming to our doorsteps in Arunachal Pradesh in every fortnight to look into or issues and find solutions to them.  Such a proactive union government under Prime Minister Modi shall not do anything against the wishes of the people of our state, he added. He also listed out the rapid development brought especially in spheres of connectivity in Arunachal and shared information about the life and contributions of Late Rutum Kamgo and offered his Shraddhanjali on the occasion of his 8th death anniversary.
