ITANAGAR, Oct 6: A three-day state level training programme on Panchayat Raj System and Gram Panchayat Development Plan for officials of Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) is being conducted by State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR) from October 6-8 at its training hall in Itanagar.
Addressing the participants, CEO cum SMD, ArSRLM, S. Miji, emphasized on the importance of the training and asked the participants to fully utilize the training. He informed that the role of ArSRLM is increasing day by day and therefore, officials of ArSRLM need to be trained more. He said that convergence activities of SHG and Panchayati Raj can be successful only if ArSRLM officials are trained and aware of various roles and responsibilities.
Earlier, Director SIRD&PR Habung Lampung, while briefing on training contents and its basic objectives said that to make any planning at the grassroot level successful and achievable, officials working in the field must be conversant with concept, challenges, responsibilities etc of Gram Panchayat and work in proper coordination. He urged the participants to inculcate knowledge on concepts and various challenges in PRI and self help groups and the role of self help groups.
More than 40 officials of ArSRLM including District Mission Manager, Block Mission Manager, Cluster Coordinator etc are participating in the three day training.
