CHANGLANG, Jan 7: The Indian Army battalion based at Lekhapani distributed 18 computers to four government schools of Miao circle to promote digital education in schools at Miao general ground near here on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Deputy Commissioner Sunny Kumar Singh said that the programme aims to build civil and military relationship. He said, due to various reasons some schools lack education facilities. Therefore, it was a joint effort by the army and district administration to provide the needs.
“With such programmes, we believe the civil-army relationship will reache the next level. Also a Covid vaccination camp for the age group of 15-18 years in support with the CHC, Miao and medical branch of the Army was organised,” he said.
He also appealed to the children under the age group to come forward and get vaccinated. The district administration is also planning to cover vaccination among the children through various camps in respective schools, he added.
Meanwhile, CHC medical staff Lath Gam Singpho informed that the vaccination process has started from January 3 and will continue till every single child under the age group of 15-18 years is vaccinated.
He also appreciated the Indian Army for the joint effort in encouraging digital education and vaccination programmes in the district.
