ITANAGAR, Nov 11: A delegation from the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) today met capital SP Jimmy Chiram to apprise him on several issues related to crime against women and children in the Itanagar Capital Region.
Apprising the SP about the locations in the ICR frequented by antisocial elements, the team appreciated the Capital Police for waging war against drug peddlers. APWWS President Gumri Ringu requested the SP to install high-rise masts and CCTVs at crime-prone locations within the ICR. The Society’s Secretary General Kani Nada Maling appealed to the SP to reserve a vehicle for rescue of children and women needing urgent help and also placed the need for engagement of a counsellor for counselling the traumatized women and children who are victims of violence. The SP while assuring that it will be his endeavour to streamline the system, sought cooperation from the APWWS in this regard.
Earlier, the team felicitated the SP and his team of officers including SPDO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom, OC Itanagar Simi Passang and SI Millo Sumpi.
