ITANAGAR, Oct 25: Former President of Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) Aalo Branch Karngam Ete passed away following a brief illness on October 23. She was serving as advisor till her demise.
“She served the organisation with outmost sincerity and dedication and worked for upliftment of women. Her early demise is an irreparable loss, APWWS (CEC) said in a condolence message.
The Galo Welfare Society also mourned the sudden demise of Karngam Loyi Ete, a renowned social worker and women activist who passed away at Assam Medical College (AMC) Dibrugarh due to cardio respiratory failure at the age of 60 years. She was a woman of substance who always voiced against social evils in society and strongly fought for women rights in the district. In recognition of her social activities, she was respected by all sections of society, the GWS said in a release adding her immense contributions for upliftment of society will always be remembered.
