ITANAGAR, Jul 16: The Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists has expressed its condolences over the death of Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Danish Siddiqui.
He was killed during clashes in Afghanistan’s Spin Boldak district.
The photojournalist from Kashmir was in Kandahar over the last few days.
Siddiqui and his colleague Adnan Abidi were a part of the Reuters team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography in 2018 for its reporting on the Rohingya refugee crisis.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of Siddiqui's death and extend our condolences to his family," a statement from APUWJ said.
"His death is a grim reminder of the dangers that journalists face in the line of their duty," the statement added.
